I couldn't settle for one today. So I wrote a short story in 3 minutes and made it 2.
Now then.
Of course, he was a happy child. Everyone loved his courage and his ability to keep an audience interested. He was perfect in most humanly ways, and ideas came easily to him.
One day, an accident occurred. He was on his favorite tire swing, on that could nearly reach the starts, when all of a sudden, someone cut the rope. He fell to the ground, and landed on the back of his head. His brain smashed against the inner skull, and he blacked out. The man immediately ran away, realizing the damage he had caused.
When he woke up, the happy child was a bit stranger. His brain had shifted sideways. When he went to school that day, a crowd formed around him. His normally adventurous story began.
"I'm your captain today everyone!"
The crowd cheered.
"Let's board the boat. Watch your step over those three barrels of rum!"
The crowd got silent. The area was flat, and nothing around could be used at all to be their pretend boat. And he had never mentioned anything about alcohol!
"What's this? A portal! To the ends of time, and beyond! Come on everyone, you'll miss your boarding."
Some people started to leave. These flat plains had no portal, nothing.
More people left, until, only one person remained.
"Ok, so the three of us can sail this thing, right?"
There were 2 people.
"let's go to the ends of time!"
Those were his last words. He just lay there, sprawled on the muddy ground, with a crew of now 2.
