Today, I went on adventure with Jason (not the one in the character list).
We went to the library for an art show, and it was too late for anyone to be there for any other reason. So, we grabbed some snacks and set off on a small quest.
First, we walked around the reference and stuff section. All the computers were filled with error messages, and suspicious music that sounded satanic came from a nearby door.
A book caught our eye. "Human Brain Disorders". We opened it up, and I immediately searched for schizophrenia. It was there, but something more interesting than Syd Barrett appeared. A picture of a girl in a dark, shady corner with hair covering her face. It was labeled a self portrait of a person with some creative disease.
Then dyslexia poppde pu dna it got weird. Book closed.
We followed the satanic sounding melodies to a giant wooden door, with a light (not on) labeled "session in progress". Through a small crack, we peered into a room filled with some weird freaks singing songs in a different language. Strange. Sounds of screaming seemed to slip past the walls as we strolled away as if nothing had happened.
Then, the children's section. There was a bunny. A realistic statue of a bunny. It seemed like it was going to hit us with it's realistic basket too. It's creepy. In a children's section.
We descended the spiral stairs through the deserted biblioteca. An abandoned coffee shop. An elevator. Suspicious people eying us.
We took the elevator up. It clanked back up to the top. Where they bunny lay. And stared. And the fish swam around in their deep, space-like cylinder. Now, we continued our journey to the monotonous section of the book storage building.
Rows and rows with dim labels for stories filled the teen/adult section. At least 3 floors were filled with these rows. So, we continued up. And up. And up. Until we saw computers. No, wait-
They were too...old to be at this library. "Microfilm viewer. No printing".
Instructions for loading came on the machine. Except, what were these? We loaded a 1957 film into the machine, and a newspaper popped up. Several actually, with interesting ads. Amazing.
Then one from September 12, then some more.
The grains of sand were quickly running out, so we evacuated the library, and got into the vehicle and ate pizza.
Remember: MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU.
