I went to Disneyland on Sunday. For all the people who are going to ask, it was fine.
And on Monday I recorded guitar, bass, and drums for some guy, who made the drums sound somewhat decent.
And today I woke up early and got to mess around for a couple hours, which included making Emaly's birthday song and taking a long shower, and eating more than 10 minutes before I had to leave. What an exciting life.
But I really don't know what to post right now. Before reflecting on how nice the past couple days were, I was in a horrible mood. I won't explain because it's pointless, but I have no access to a computer now, which means no cool photos associated with this post, so it'll probably become a wall of words.
So I'll explain a bit about how to find different music:
Go to http://bandcamp.com and click on discover. A bunch of album arts may pop up, and currently it is sorted by most popular. That's no way to discover original music though. So, pick a genre like experimental or something that you enjoy, but don't know a lot about. Now click on "new releases" and scroll through the list. This is a part of extreme judgement by the art someone decided to use, or even the name, so try to be open minded. Open all of the music you have in new tabs so it forms a decent list. Eventually you should have a bunch, so stop in the middle and start listening.
Now, this is the decisive part. If you're not willing to spend money, immediately eliminate all the ones with a set price. Now you can either keep searching and find more to judge soon, of listen to the ones you have now.
This part might take a little more time. First, look at the bottom of the page at the tags. If it's something that looks horrible to you, close the tab. Otherwise, click play on the first song. If it sounds pretty decent, skip to the next song, and if you're comfortable, download the album or song or whatever.
Then, while it's downloading, maybe look at the recommendations to see the artist's influences or something to get similar music. And then just keep repeating.
And if you have finals to study for, but don't actually want to spend real time studying, then do this. It's quite fun.
You could just use wikipedia and search a specific genre of music, then click on all of the bands listed in the page until something that you like pops up, but that's less fun.
