Day 2

Let's continue my story. If you haven't already, read the post before this to understand more stuff. Anyways:

I found my base raided a little when I woke up. Nothing major was stolen, because I kept that in my backpack near me when I slept. Eventually, I decided to continue on with my journey and venture onto my old city. From there, I could travel to my home and set up base.

My choice of direction when I left the tower earlier was off. Instead of going the harder, more rewarding way, I explored the easy reliable route. Because of this decision, I had to dangerously make my way back to the tower, crowded with armed troops now, and sprint 200 miles the other way.

I set off, eagerly approaching my destination. This voyage took me about a week to complete, for I stopped to visit the ruins of prosperous monuments. The landscape was littered with holes of explosives blasting through walls. Many cities were plundered, and left to burn to ashes. Soon, the city was in sight. The surrounding forest blocked it from view, and everything around it seemed intact. I approached quickly, but heard an echo in my head. The voice whispered, "You wanna see something cool Blake?"

I woke up near the tower. This time, it was night, and I was surrounded by monsters. I still had my full backpack, and decided to return to my city as quick as possible. The guards didn't spot me yet, but I would have to defeat them to easily get passed the tower and make it to my city.

As I dodged monsters, I quickly jumped onto the thin path that led in and out of the tower. Sprinting as fast as I could, I saw a guard heading my way. Everything blurred as I was shoved to the side, off the path that led to a steep fall. I found myself on the ground, with minor wounds and an almost impossible escape. Monsters surrounded the walls, and molten lava blocked the ways through the old railroad. Around me, water endlessly poured from the sky to the abyss below me, and it seemed hopeless to escape. Until a small clearing formed on the other side.
The steps were crumbled, but still useable. Although monsters surrounded me and attacked me on sight, I ran fast enough to escape their harm, and jumped the gap to safety.

Now all there I had to do was walk 195 miles to my city, and them 160 more miles to my home. This required days of trekking across the barren, destroyed landscape, and crossing giant masses of water. And after 6.5 days, I made it.

The city had not even been touched. This gave me a rare and amazing opportunity. I searched through chests and crates, but managed to find nothing of value. There must've been a reason nobody even entered my city.
I spent the night in my old house's bed, and reached a checkpoint in my milestone.

The journey home required more calculating and time. Even on a normal day it was hard to get home from the city. My house was chosen next to a forest in a flat area, where no one could find it. It was designed to be secluded from even the most curious traveler. The area around it was typical for wilderness, making it hard to spot any key landmarks when traveling home. But I decided to embark anyways.
