The most exciting band ever

This post shall be an insight about music. Particularly Simon and Garfunkel today.

Recently I took a trip to the record store. After looking around for quite some time, there appeared to be a 99 cent bin, with various bands that aren't particularly good. The vinyls seemed to be in good shape, and there also were at least 2 copies of every album in the bin. One LP that caught my eye was Simon and Garfunkel: Greatest Hits. For some reason, there were several copies of this magnificent album; around 5. Although I didn't listen to this 2 person group often, I decided to pick it up. I mean, it's a dollar for the greatest hits of this peculiar band.

Soon, it was almost time to leave this glorious store. The female authority watching over me at the time had to use the facilities, and so did my younger brother's strange friend. I had picked up another vinyl, Rolling Stones: Hot Rocks for a bargain, and was content with my choices. But soon, the despicable happened.
My father approached me, eying that I had a Simon and Garfunkel album next to Hot Rocks, and questioned me about the decision. The man declared that the group was boring, and nothing could be accomplished with a 2 man band. He was also under the delusion that I was buying the cheap record for someone else who did not own a record player. This maniac forced my to throw the record back onto the rack, and quickly rushed me to check out the album that I was holding. Unfortunately, I left the day with Hot Rocks, and not the beautiful sounds of Simon & Garfunkel.

After the vehicle of transportation arrived home that night, I decided to do a little research on this amazing group. Apparently, they are classified as folk and soft rock. Their songs are a perfect blend of every instrument with original singing. Their lyrics are meaningful and, compared to any other band, truly inspiring. Let's compare 2 songs: one by Simon and Garfunkel, and the other by an even more popular band, the Beatles.

When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
-Bridge Over Troubled Waters- Simon & Garfunkel

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green
Towering over your head
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes
And she's gone
-Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds- The Beatles

As you can see, Simon and Garfunkel seems like a nicer band to listen to, and aren't all stupid and weird like the Beatles. Say you're really depressed, and you had to listen to one song. You're on the verge of suicide, and if the song makes you feel better all signs of depression will suddenly disappear. The first track that you put on is the Beatles. The song sounds like a description of LSD, so you take a little too much of a certain drug and never wake up from your bad trip.
Now if you listened to Simon and Garfunkel, then you'd survive. All you have to do is listen to that last line, "I will comfort you" and every illness you have will magically be cured. Even cancer.

Although some might argue that this band is boring, and it's slow melodies make you fall asleep, that is not always the case. Take Mrs. Robinson for example. An upbeat ORIGINAL SONG. Yes, Simon and Garfunkel were the original producers of this popular hit.
As you can see, this song isn't all boring, and dumb like some people generalize Simon and Garfunkel to be. The fact that even the Beatles copied their song shows that their catchy tune was worthy of one of the "Greatest bands of all time" (according to the internet).

Well, this band has done quite well. 2 people making wonderful melodic rhythms is quite an accomplishment. I think you get the point. Now I'm gunna move onto music in general.

MUSIC IN GENERAL:
I'll make this short. Today, music is an attempt of art by people playing similar songs, covers, and making up crappy lyrics that just rhyme. They barely have guitar solos, and all their voices sound the same. They also decide to play simply drum beats, and turn up the bass annoyingly loud while screaming without any sense of what they are doing. Their creativity is completely gone when they're just monotonously speaking random words that rhyme into a microphone.
Also, the only 3 albums that tell a decent story that I know of are 2112 (Rush), The Wall (Pink Floyd), and Tommy (The Who). None of these bands are past the 90's, and are all amazing composers. Their stories are original and awesome.

Overall, music was better between the 60's and around 1993 (certain bands). But after that, everything turned into a crappy rap mush and nothing was worth listening to anymore. And that's why I listen to good music.
